Safe at Dyckerhoff Polska

‘Safety is an absolute priority to us,’ said Mirosław Majchrowicz, President of the Management Board of Dyckerhoff Polska sp. z o.o. at the annual meeting with the company’s stakeholders held as part of the Safety Day on June, 14 in Nowiny. ‘I am grateful to our employees for their involvement and to the cooperating external companies that also improve their OHS measures. This helps us to take care of safety together, and we have been working on a no-accident basis for 7,5 years.’ 

The meeting with the Management Board as well as representatives of the State Labor Inspectorate, Nowiny Municipality and trade unions was an occasion to settle the occupational health and safety competition addressed to subcontractors. The company’s good practices in that regard were also presented.

It is the third time that the winners of the competition were selected on the basis of assessment made by project managers at Dyckerhoff Polska, representatives of production, maintenance and OHS departments. 

Management Representatives: Mirosław Majchrowicz, President, and Nataliia Pryimak, Finance and Procurement Manager, presented the commemorative statues to the winning renovation and subcontracting companies. 

Large companies awarded are: Zakład Usług Remontowych i Produkcyjnych ZURiP S.A., MARAT sp. z o.o., BIKO Serwis sp z o.o. sp. k., as well as SSE Polska sp z o.o., ZUR MARBO s.c., Przedsiębiorstwo Handlowo Techniczne SUPON Sp. z o.o.

In the category of medium-size companies, the awards were granted to: Zakład Mechaniki Przemysłowej ZMP s.c., MD Budownictwo sp. z o.o., Zakład Prac na Wysokości Partner Stefan Gumuła (who also received a special award), as well as: Wiskol1 sp. z o.o., TORBUD Andrzej Sołtys, Demeter sp. z o.o.

In the category of small companies, the awards went to: ELPRO Mateusz Zapała, P.H.U. DARMAR sp. j, Wodwent System Krzysztof Bęben, as well as P.P.H.U. Kobex Grzegorz Nowakowski, RBM Technik and Marek Janikowski P.P.H.U Hydromar.

Special recognition went to P.P.H. TARIZOLACJA Sp. z o.o. and the Maintenance Department of Dyckerhoff Polska Sp. z o.o.
In 2023, the statuettes of leader in the process of building high safety culture and promoting proactive OHS behaviours were collected by trade unions: ZZ BUDOWLANI (Construction Workers Trade Union) represented by its chairman, Zbigniew Janowski, and Anna Bujnowska, and NSZZ “Solidarność” (“Solidarity” Independent and Self-Governing Trade Union) represented by deputy chairman, Kazimierz Pasternak.


Jacek Starula, Manager of the OHS Department, presented OHS good practices and initiatives employed at Dyckerhoff Polska within the scope of improvement of accident prevention and constant increase of safety quality in the plant. In 2023, the employees of the company honoured with the commemorative statues for best initiatives regarding OHS improvement are: Roman Stępień, Jacek Zimnicki and Czesław Borek. 
The representatives of the Trade Unions presented the President of the Management Board, Mirosław Majchrowicz and production manager Dariusz Sokolowski, with a surprise award. The Chairman of ZZ Budowlani presented the President and production manager with the gold badge of “Merit to the Construction Industry.”

After the official part, the Management Board invited the guests to visit the plant. The attraction was the ride to the “Kowala” mine of the Mining Plant and participation in the rock splitting show, the so-called blasting show. The guests could also learn about the production process, see the central control room and laboratory. There was also a rare opportunity to see the clinker burning kiln.

The Safety Day at Dyckerhoff Polska ended with the common dinner which was an opportunity to many business and social talks.
