The 50th Anniversary of the Nowiny plant

The Nowiny cement plant (today Dyckerhoff Poland) celebrated half a century of its existence. On the occasion of this anniversary, the Day of Open Doors was organized for employees, their families and residents. It was an opportunity to visit one of the most modern cement plants in Europe. A family picnic was planned with a variety of activities for children and contests with prizes. Special guests were representatives of the owner Veronica Buzzi the Vice President of the Buzzi Unicem Group and Luigi Buzzi, the Director of Research and Development, as well as Paolo Zelano, the Head of the Supervisory Board.

-Many Times I had the opportunity to compare this plant with others in the group. I can say that it is a high technology facility, located among the beauty of nature. There are a lot of greenery and wonderful surroundings. I express my thanks to the employees for their commitment and wish you all further successes - said, Veronica Buzzi.

Wishes for the employees and their families were also given by rzysztof Kocik, the CEO of Dyckerhoff Poland Sp. zoo. He received a great number of congratulations from local authorities, representatives of business organizations, trade unions and employees.

- The 50th Anniversary of the plant creates s an opportunity not only for recollections but also for the presentation of the current image of Dyckerhoff Poland Sp. z o.o. with the headquarters in Nowiny - said the President, Krzysztof Kocik. / and > The privatization in 1996 gave a chance for dynamic development of the company. Thanks to high financial expenditures Nowiny changed its image dramatically. The history and development of this plant are an excellent example of how over 50 years, the firm with a long tradition can be transformed into a modern European company.

The commencement of the cement plant dates back to 27 October 1965, when for the first time the furnace No. 1 was put into operation.

The Day of Open Doors was combined with a picnic and a site visit. The petrol tourist trackless road train proved very popular, which took visitors on the site. It was an opportunity to have a close look at one of the most modern cement plants in Europe. During the event, there were also contests with prizes, games and demonstrations of emergency medical services. Sweet Combo and young local artists make time memorable.
